The book of Job in the Old Testament is a great work for many reasons. It is a book that gives great wisdom and insight. It is short and concise. The book of Job must have been written five centuries before Jesus. The book of Job unravels the most difficult problems of all time, such as why there is suffering and poverty.

Job and his family enjoyed good health, great wealth, happiness, and goodness. Suddenly, everything changes; one by one all that he had, collapse into nothingness. Having heard about Job's misfortune, three friends of him arrive from three places. Basically, their theological position are almost the same. 'God is true and just. If this misfortune has befallen you, it must be because of your sin. You must have committed some secret sin,' is their position in general. They had no doubts about it.

Five centuries after the book of Job was written, in the time of Jesus, we find these three friends again in Israel: the Scribes, the Sadducees, and the Pharisees. Their theological positions were also almost the same. They also had no doubts about it.

Just as in the book of Job, Jesus also corrected things. Jesus declared unequivocally that “Neither this man nor his parents sinned” (John 9:3).

After Jesus twenty centuries have passed. Today, we see the three friends again singing the same tune as Job’s friends: some people of prayer, some preachers, and some counselors! Again, they have no doubts about it!
