“If the Lord does not build the house, in vain is the builders labor.” that's how Psalm 127 begins.
So who really is the builder?
Although the Lord is the builder, the builders also do build. The Lord does not build alone.
“for no one can lay a foundation other than the one that is there, namely Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay or straw, each one’s work will come to light, for the day will disclose it" (1 Cor. 3:11-13). Paul is referring to the foundation as the Lord and all of us as builders.
At one time Jesus also says about building a house based on his Word, “He will be like a man who dug deep and laid foundation on the rock.”
When sculptors work on a sculpture, as much as possible they usually hide it from the eyes of others. The sculpture is unveiled only after it is finished. There seem to be some hints of that sort in the New Testament. We are God's handiwork. The work of art that will only be unveiled on the Last Day. What if we think that our glory would only be revealed on that day?!
That's the feeling I get when I come to know certain people up close.
